Do you own a Raspberry Pi?

Have you used an Arduino or other small microcontroller?

In the past I worked with Hitachi, Infineon, Motorola, and TI microcontrollers. I just bought a BeagleBone Black to do some ARM based Linux device driver learning.

Do you program? What languge(s)?

Java, C, Assembly, C++.

Do you build circuits?

I'm not a EE, but I certainly understand schematics and digital electronics. In the past I designed schematics and PCBs for a company called Electronic Displays in Addison. If you have seen the multi-color L.E.D. displays on El platforms, you have seen my work.

Do you see the Rasberry Pi as (a) a sort of small tablet/mobile computer (b) a headless hardware controller (c) some other wacky thing (d) that's the Big Question, isn't it?

I see it as a fun way to learn and build lots of different things.

Worked in real-time embedded systems 1998-2005. Have taught CompSci at community college 2006-present. Trying to learn Linux device driver development.
