The Best of Three Worlds: Using Your .Net Skills to Build Multi-Platform Mobile

Abstract

If you need to build a multi-platform mobile application, the two obvious choices are to write it once in each of Objective-C, Java, and C#, or to use one of the many cross-platform frameworks that usually has a non-native look and feel everywhere. In this live programming demonstration, you'll learn how to build multi-platform mobile apps using C# and the .NET libraries that you already know. I'll show you how to get started with Xamarin's MonoTouch and Mono for Android toolchains, and will give you some tips and tricks for sharing as much code as possible among platforms while looking totally native on each of iOS, Android, and Windows 8.
