Catch this fantastic lineup on Friday, June 27th at Willie Mcbride's in Branchburg, NJ. Our headliner for the evening, Joseph Anthony, Joseph’s father was an Italian Immigrant, who entered the United States just after WWII and began his career as a Longshoreman at the age of 17. He quickly climbed up the management ladder. His mother was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised Joseph on: delicious dishes, overbearing love, inherent O.C.D. … And incidentally, had a mean right hook - for someone who stood only 4’ 11!” Surprisingly, being raised (in part) by his five older sisters who frequently opened Joseph’s mind up to such things as: how to use a hot curling hair kit, cleaning the crevices of wood furniture, and being a constant (mini) Hustle practice partner, all with the absence of any brothers and a father determined to figure out the fine art of betting, he (Joseph) was no stranger to the ways of the streets, but also enjoyed a quiet retreat to read and write at a very young age. The results you say? He can hold court with both Harvard and Sing Sing prison alumni, just the same. Yet despite his upbringing, he belongs to no one particular group, class, click, or innate stereotypes, as it were. In the world of entertainment, he’s simply referred to quite often as: VERSATILE – TALENTED – FUNNY - SMART!

Joseph studied writing style and screen writing at the New School for Social Research, in New York City. He learned the basics of filmmaking at the College of Staten Island, NY. He studied the Meisner technique of acting under Joanna Beckson (Ray Romano’s teacher), herself a student of the famed Actors Studio.
In January of 1990, he stepped onstage at PIPS Comedy Club in Brooklyn, New York. He immediately found the avenue for all three of his artistic passions – writing, acting and stand up comedy. Today, Joseph is a frequently requested performer/headliner at the most well known comedy clubs and countless venues in the Northeast and around the country. Feature-Kevin Israel
At the age of six, Kevin recalls sitting on the couch watching Bill Cosby perform on the variety show, Saturday Night Gold. That night, Mr. Cosby was preparing for his upcoming special “Bill Cosby: Himself.” Young Kevin sat, transfixed, as he watched a genius turn common story telling into a work of art. He knew then, that this would be his future. For many years he delighted his family during dinnertime with jokes he had memorized from a library of joke books. His mother often called him ‘the walking joke machine.’

In college he would fall asleep to a litany of comedians on the newly created channel, Comedy Central. He once even dumped a girl because she tired of watching stand up comedy. “It’s me or the funny men.” It wasn’t even a competition. His fraternity convinced him to perform stand-up during a Greek talent show. From his first moment on stage, he was hooked.

Shortly after graduating from college, Kevin began performing at amateur shows and open-mic nights. Over the years he has created an act that is both unique, and telling of his own story. He combines the humor garnered from years of family dinners with his own observational experiences and insights on family and relationships.

After attending law school and working as a lawyer, Kevin decided that his realization all those years ago while watching Bill Cosby still held true – his future was in making people laugh.

Kevin has since performed at clubs and venues throughout the north east. He has brought his own style of comedy to private and corporate events as well as colleges and fundraisers. He can also be heard on XM Radio’s ‘Rascals Comedy Hour.’
