Divorce can be a time consuming, expensive and emotionally draining life event. Where people are forced to make financial decisions they have never made before that will likely have a significant impact on their future. They do this amidst a wide range of emotions that may make it difficult to focus and make financial decisions.
The people in our divorce support group have assembled a series of classes designed to help you make financial decisions during the divorce process. The classes are free and delivered by qualified industry professionals.
During this session, participants will be acquainted with the various forms of dispute resolution: mediation, litigation, arbitration, collaborative; the use of professionals to guide you through the legal process, lawyer, mediator, legal aide, pro se; an explanation of how a divorce transpires through the courts; what they can expect in terms of proceedings; what decisions need to be made throughout the process; what is required of them during the process; if they want to go it alone “pro se” or hire a professional; what decisions have to be made while developing a property settlement agreement.
