New Meetup: Week-end long run in the Amsterdamse Bos

A former member
Announcing a new Meetup for The Netherlands Adventurers Meetup!

What: Week-end long run in the Amsterdamse Bos

When: Saturday, March 20, 2010 10:15 AM

Amsterdamse Bos Visitors' centre
Bosbaanweg 5

Our next weekend run is scheduled for this Saturday 10.15 am.
That is to allow participants some extra time (as those who have been there know: I mean mostly me ;-)) )

We will meet again in front of the Bezoekerscentrum (Info building) just before 10.15 am and then go exploring the Amsterdamse Bos. We will start the run right at 10.15 am, if more than two runners are present.

Like last week, we'll start off with a circular route around the Bos for around half hour to 45 minutes, depending on the abilities and motivation of the participants.
The pace will be slow, so don't hesitate to come out if you feel like you have to get into shape first.
We'll finish returning to the visitors' centre.

For anyone interested in building up some more endurance and mileage, feel free to run longer distances. There are people who train for half and full marathons.

FYI. as the weather improves with spring/summer on its way, to provide more incentives and keep motivation up, there will be plenty of opportunities to get further afield including running in the Dunes/by the coast/beach. Also there are several organised runs over the summer/autumn we can let you know about to provide some goals and get you going! : )
We have several runners serving as the lead contact (alternating weekly), so it's easier to recognise the group among all runners gathering at the same location.

We are always looking for volunteers to organise the long runs.
See you there!
