The Netherlands Adventurers Meetup Message Board › New Meetup: Fruit picking for fun, a day in the orchards
|A former member||
An outdoor adventure in the orchards, picking fruits in the summer.
Picking strawberries, raspberries, red berries and cherries at Fruitbedrijf de Hoenderik, Tricht.
Tricht is a picturesque village on the river Linge, in the heart of the Betuwe, the fruit garden of the Netherlands. Tricht is accessible from BEESD train station. This area is characterised by its varied landscape with water, water meadows, dykes, pastures, orchards and many historic places. It is splendidly rural and quiet.
Trip will include a guided tour (in english) of the orchard, the winery and the apiary of the Hoenderik - 3.50 Euros per person.
We will be provided with baskets to pick the fruits we pluck. The cost of the fruits plucked which we take home are
Strawberry - 2.00 Euro / 500 gms
Raspberry - 2.50 Euro / 500 gms
Red Berry - 2.00 Euro approx.
Cherry - in the farm store 2.50 Euro / 500 gms
Also available at the farm
Demonstration apple juice pressing + tasting a glass of freshly squeezed apple juice € 4.50 per person.
Anke, the farm owner informed this morning that the bridge between the railway station Geldermalsen and Tricht is closed for works.
So we will have to change trains at Geldermalsen, go to BEESD station and then walk 5 kms from there instead of the 2.5 kms ealier on. (no public buses in this area.)
A better alternative would be if we could car pool. A few people have agreed to take cars and those who have space in their cars for others, please let me know.( Email your mobile numbers)
As of now we have 31 RSVP.
Car travel – 16 confirmed
I can accommodate 2 more people in my car.
So that is 18.
If you can accommodate people in your car, it would be great.
