This group is for anyone who likes to play (or would like to learn to play) Backgammon, one of the oldest games known to man (dating back to 3000 BC in Ancient Persia).

The intent of this group is casual, social play with perhaps an occasional tournament for bragging rights (if the two people facing each other wish to play for stakes, that will be between them). If you desire something more competitive or formal you may wish to check out the Northern Virginia Backgammon Club (http://novabackgammon.tripod.com/)

It may take a bit of time to get enough members to have some kind of group event, even if it is just a happy hour so everyone can get acquainted. In the mean time to get your Backgammon fix, please feel free to post on the message board to set up one on one games. (the message board will remain open access to all members but if it used for anything other than this purpose i.e. selling stuff or anything else unrelated to this Meetup, you will be bounced out of the group).
