This group for Makers in Northern Virginia! We are looking for hobbyists, inventors, and small businesses here who use our woodshop, metalshop, laser cutter lab, 3d printing, drone/robotics/electronics zone, thermoformer, and jewelry/stained glass/leatherworking/arts studio.

Community Project Showcase - Camila Presents - OpenEncrypt (Python) and Nerv

Join us online for a fun evening of show and tell, where community member Camila will present on some neat programming projects:- OpenEncrypt - (in Python) - a simple Python tool made for encrypting and signing messages in a secure way. It’s easy to use, runs with just regular Python, and is meant for learning or research.
- Nerv - (in Rust) - a little scripting language built from scratch. Camila will cover some concepts around what steps are needed for creating a language using LLVM
While these are not production-scale projects - they share the joy of learning and cover some important industry fundamentals like encryption techniques, and language design.
We'll have two presentation and demo periods, each followed by a brief community question and answer period. At the end of the event we'll open it up for general discussion and hang out.
