This special presentation and workshop will focus on the practical application of social media for social justice. See how the Global Poverty Project (http://www.globalpovertyproject.com), The End of Polio campaign and the Global Citizen application are used in engaging as many people as possible with the topics and issues of extreme poverty. We can then see how we translate information and inspiration into action for people to join the movement to see the end of extreme poverty within a generation. Watch a brief video about the project here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yio6kQrlYQ)
The Global Poverty Project is the organization responsible for bringing the Global Festival to Central Park in NYC (which stars Canada's very own Neil Young). Read about it on Rolling Stone's website (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/neil-young-foo-fighters-black-keys-to-headline-global-festival-in-central-park-20120807).
