http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/3/1/a/event_232213082.jpegA StorySlam is an open mic event where people tell and listen to true stories. (Like "The Moth" radio program and live shows). This month's theme is: "I learned it the hard way: tales from the school of hard knocks."

This is a fun night of laughter and friends, meeting new people and getting to know your neighbors. Practice your empathic listening skills, get your needs met for community, authenticity and FUN!

Open to all. You don't have to tell a story to enjoy the show. If you want a chance to tell a personal story on the theme, be there by 7:00PM and put your name in the hat. Storytellers will be chosen at random. To keep things moving along and authentic, we ask that storytellers follow 4 simple rules:

++ Stories must be 5 minutes or less and touch on the theme in some way
++ Stories must be true
++ Stories must be about your life
++ Stories must be told from memory or spontaneously improvised, but no notes are allowed

What did you learn the hard way? Come tell us about it!
FREE!
(Refreshments, beer & wine will be available for purchase.)

Arrive by 7:00 PM if you want to tell a story, and put your name in the hat. Although storytellers are chosen at random, most people who put their name in do get to tell their story.

Stories begin at 7:30PM.
