Dear hardware gurus,
In my zeal to disrupt your August relaxation, I have a few more events to announce starting with our very own meetup next week and a great speaker.
- Next week we have an incredible line up for our second meetup at the snazzy Collab venue in West Village. Jeff Gloss of Kogeto is coming to tell his story of building a hardware/software company in the complicated realm of iPhone add ons and accesories. Starting with a modest Kickstarter petition which broke records, Kogeto raised investment money, designed, manufactured and released two products and managed to negotiate their way into a number of retail stores, including Apple – no easy task! Come and hear him speak about their experience and the lessons he's learned on the way. We’ll also have 2 great startups pitch. If you haven’t RSVP’d yet do so here – it’s the best thing you’ll do this August.
- If you want to showcase your latest product or prototype at the World Maker Faire in NY on September 29th and 30th, then you have until August 24th to register your participation. More than 40,000 people visit MakerFaire each year so it’s a great opportunity for you to sell or showcase your products and get some feedback from a very enthusiastic and forgiving crowd.
- Just recapping some upcoming events, we have the Open Hardware Summit on September 27th, and the Design for Manufacture forum on September 20th with reduced rate tickets available for this meetup group here! These are both pretty good events to meet other hardware folks with startups.
Looking forward to seeing many of you next Tuesday at the meetup event. Until then, keep building.
