How familiar are you with Haskell?

Groovy and Python exposed me to the world of functional programming. I've recently started learning Haskell and it is like learning programming all over again. So I would say I am Haskell beginner.

Why Haskell?

After using functional features of Python, I've realized the importance of functional style of programming. I've found that I am able to write more elegant readable and maintainable code using list and dict comprehensions, closures, map, filter and reduce. But Python is not a pure functional language and does not support static typing. Haskell offers all these advantages and some more. I am not sure if I will ever get an opportunity to write production code in Haskell, but I would like to learn this language to become a better programmer. I hope that by joining New York Haskell Users group I will be able to find how it is being used in the industry. I would like to learn from experienced programmers and after gaining sufficient expertise give back and promote Haskell.
