Feature Presentation

For the "maiden voyage" on July 30, 2014, Paolo Gaudiano, organizer of this Meetup, will speak about "Visual Exploration: what it means, why it matters, how you can contribute."

Event agenda

Each Meetup event will feature demos and discussions of Visual Exploration companies, tools, web sites, and anything else relevant to Visual Exploration. Events will be engaging with live demos, participation and discussion encouraged!

Each Meetup will be organized as follows:

• 30 minutes of networking (with snacks and beverages)

• Feature presentation with Q&A: The formal portion of each event will include a speaker who will inform and impress with a topic related to Visual Exploration. Speakers with lots of words in their PowerPoints will be chastised and not invited back :-).

• Live demos with discussions and voting: We will present about 5 live, interactive demos. Participants will vote for their favorite demo, which will be featured on the Visual Exploration blog/site for the next month.

• General announcements: we will announce other relevant events, sponsor acknowledgements, job opportunities and job seekers. Anyone is welcome to get up and announce something relevant.

• Additional networking time (optional). Because sometimes you want to keep networking after the main event...

The main speaker and exact location of each Meetup event will be announced at least two weeks ahead of the event.

The main presenter will be featured in the Visual Exploration blog (pending), and the selected demos will be featured on the site, with the winning demo featured on the home page.
