JOIN US FOR SCREENINGS, CINEMA OUTINGS, AND PUB NIGHTS!
Meet other local fans of British films and television programmes. See great flicks and telly shows not readily available here in the States (plus some that are -- but it's always more fun in a group!).
Our programming is eclectic so there should be something for everyone: comedies, mysteries, musicals, sci-fi, horror, documentaries, dramas, etc.
Each event description includes a brief synopsis of the programme. For detailed info on the films themselves check out www.IMDB.com, www.AllMovie.com, Netflix, and Wikipedia.
NB: The Meetup calendar is in the US format (Sunday - Saturday, not Monday - Sunday). So look sharp when marking your diary!
Also note, our meetups take place at various days, times, and locations. Please read the event description carefully for details.
And lastly, although most of our events are free or low-cost, some have admission fees (e.g., ticketing for cinema outings) or associated expenses (you pay your own bill down the pub).
Check the "About" section in the left sidebar (beneath "Home") for more info.

DOCTOR WHO / TORCHWOOD EVENTS
Our friends at DWNY.org invite you to attend their monthly pub nights (usually Monday or Wednesday). This is your opportunity to meet other fans of Doctor Who and Torchwood in a relaxed social setting. These are not official events for our group, however our members are invited to attend on their own. Click on the calendar note for details. (These are posted as "notes" rather than "events" on the group calendar.)
In addition to the pub nights, we are also invited to DWNY's special screenings of Doctor Who and Torchwood. These are often official events for our group and posted accordingly.
Furthermore, we visit Doctor Who and Torchwood filming locations on our UK Meetups (2 - 3 times per year).

TELLY PARTIES at Cary's Gaff
Due to popular demand, I try to host telly parties at mine as often as possible (2 - 3 times per month). These include watching current British television programmes online, plus import DVDs not available in the US. I encourage people to make requests (in advance, if possible) or bring DVDs that we can offer up to the group.
Themes
In addition to the current online programming selections (based on availability), I like to base part of the evening on a theme. These include ongoing series (Gavin & Stacey, Footballers Wives, etc.) or stars (French & Saunders, Catherine Tate, Ruth Jones, etc.)
Movies
From autumn through spring we begin earlier in the evening and present double-features. These are also usually based on a theme (political dramas, films with sequels or remakes, etc.) or stars (a Judi Dench marathon, for example).
Questions, comments, suggestions, requests? Let us know!
Cheers, Cary
PS: Please read each event description carefully as they contain valuable information (too lengthy to reproduce here).
"London, 1961: Young Jenny (Carey Mulligan) is smart, attractive, and eager to start her adult life. She's grown tired of the familiar adolescent routine, so when urbane newcomer David (Peter Sarsgaard) appears in town, Jenny senses a rare opportunity to shake things up a bit. Read more

“ Because it is casual and will appeal to many - even if you are not so familiar with British telly and movies, per se. ”
