neat collection of presentations, variety of technical depth. presenters' humility was particularly notable, fostered an open, collaborative learning environment.

Awesome! Thanks to everybody for making it a great meetup!

    Mike Dewar's github is here:
(and the d3 talk with slides that I mentioned is called "d3talk")

You can start to explore NYC DOE data here:

and once again what I showed is available here:

Thanks for the great meetup. I know some of you were interested in some tools for working with D2 with live reload. So here is one I have enjoyed using in the browser

As I mentioned previously, this is great for keystroke by keystroke updates but the problem is everything is a public gist.

If you want to set up your own environment, you can use a filewatcher (like to get live reload working every time your javascript files change.

This is my current setup (gruntjs + a test runner - testacular) where I get live reload + re-run of all unit tests + end-to-end tests every time I save/modify my source files

Hey D3'ers! If you're looking for an excuse to take the day off of work on Monday you should know about EmpireJS: a one-day two-track community-run (read: non-profit) Javascript conference in NYC.

Because we're part of the JSConf family we've been able to attract some awesome speakers; even John Resig (creator of jQuery) is coming to speak. There are also talks on hardware and 3D graphics with Javascript. If you're up for it there are some discounted tickets here:

Hope to see some of you there!
