I started playing D&D with the release of 3e. My most extensive initial D&D experience came from Living Greyhawk (3e/3.5), though I've since played quite a bit of Pathfinder and dipped my toes into other editions (1, 2, 4). I also like trying out other D&D variants and non-D&D RPGs, but lack of gaming opportunities usually limits my experience to one-shots or short campaigns.
I grew up on sci-fi and fantasy. The books that stick out in my mind are Armor by John Steakley and various works by Asimov and Bradbury. There are probably tons of favorites I'm forgetting at the moment.
I'm currently running a weekend Rise of the Runelords Pathfinder campaign in Brooklyn. As long as everyone's schedules permit, we game every Saturday, though occasional Sunday sessions and skipped weeks happen.
I get typecast as a Wizard way too often, both because I tend to play one well and because I like to plug holes in party composition. I do genuinely like caster classes because they provide more tactical options, but would be nice to play something else more often.
My initial DMing experience came from Living Greyhawk, but I've run both convention one-shots and homebrewed campaigns since. I prefer to play but am up for DMing as well.
Hi all. My name is Dmitry. I live in Brooklyn.
