How long have you been playing D&D? or new to D&D? What edition do you prefer to play? 4th ed., 3.5, other?

I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for a little more than a year. I started with an introduction to 4th edition, however I become engrossed with Advanced D&D. It didn't take long to absorb these books - I'm shocked at the fact that I didn't get into this sooner. Fantasy and adventure have always kept a place in my life as well as table top gaming and reading fantasy/sci-fi books. I recently tested D&D Next with a small group of friends and enjoy the flexibility of the core rules.

What's your Favorite Book? (D&D related or not)

My favorite book is JRR Tolkiens "The Hobbit". I'm an frequent reader of many subjects but this book keeps finding its way into my hands. I am currently reading "At the Mountains of Madness" by HP Lovecraft and "Colonel Roosevelt" by Edmund Morris.

How often would you prefer to play? monthly, weekly, daily, at night, on weekends

A weekly or "every two weeks" meet up would be ideal. I commute to Manhattan Mon.-Fri. so weeknights would be my preference.

What's your favorite class to play? Wizards, Fighters, Rogues, Priests etc.

When I do play as a PC I favor the role of Gnome Illusionist. Its a fun class that requires a bit of creative thinking and imaginative problem solving and varies from the norm of other gaming groups I've played with.

Have you ever been the Dungeon Master? Would you like to be a Dungeon Master?

I've spent most of my D&D games playing as the DM. This is my favorite role since writing stories and capturing imaginations are just so darn fun. It makes me very happy to see that players are genuinely interested in a story that I've written.

My name's James and I'm an avid gamer from Long Island. I commute to NYC daily (Mon. - Fri.) and would like to find players to game with during the week. I would be thrilled to start an adventure and meet fellow D&D enthusiasts.

What James is saying about this Meetup Group

So far so good! This was my first D&D experience with them. Everyone at the table was fun to play with!
