NYC Data Business Meetup #2

Details

Please join us for our second NYC Data Business Meetup!

We have terrific speakers:

Rob Bailey, CEO, Datasift (http://www.datasift.com) (San Francisco). Datasift is a fast-growing data on demand platform. It provides the full Twitter firehose in a way that can be mined, chopped up, analyzed, and mashed up with other realtime streams such as Klout, PeerIndex, Facebook, WordPress, and others. Datasift attracted prominent VC backers, including Mark Suster at GRP and Roger Ehrenberg at IA Ventures. Tad Martin, CEO, Collective[i] (http://www.collectivei.com) (New York). Collective[i] is a first-of-its-kind cloud-based business intelligence platform designed to help marketers analyze all of their data in one place and answer tough business questions like, “How effective is my marketing mix?”. The company is just emerging from stealth mode. In addition to Tad, the other two co-founders of Collective[i] are Stephen and Heidi Messer, who sold their previous company, Linkshare, for $425 million. Andrew Nicklin, City of New York. Andrew Nicklin is a Director at the New York City Department of IT and Telecommunications (DoITT). Andrew manages the NYC OpenData platform (http://www.nyc.gov/data), providing access to over 750 data sets from multiple City agencies. The data sets are available as APIs and a variety of machine-readable formats, making it easier than ever to consume City data. Visit the NYC Open Data blog (http://nycopendata.tumblr.com/) to check out some great visualizations of City data. Terry Jones, CTO of Fluidinfo (http://www.fluidinfo.com): Fluidinfo is a single-instance online storage solution that makes it possible for people, businesses, and their applications to create, search on, organize, and share metadata about anything. Fluidinfo provides instant online APIs to those who use it for storage. Alexander Gillett, CEO of HowGood (http://www.howgood.com): HowGood specializes in rating grocery products for the greater good. Through rigorous research and objective criteria, HowGood's research covers everything related to sustainability and social responsibility.
The event will be followed by informal networking.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When you RSVP, please make sure that you are registered on the Meetup site under your FULL FIRST NAME and your FULL LAST NAME, so we can create security badges for you.

We'll be releasing the slots in increments to allow for guests invited by the speakers, so do not hesitate to add your name to the waiting list if necessary.
