When I was a kid, we'd play disc golf by hitting a tree, a mailbox, a rock. It was a great way to destroy a Frisbee.
It wasn't until just a few years ago that I discovered Disc Golf was an actual, formalized sport with a ruling body (the PDGA) and a great many courses (About 3000, with 2500+ in the US alone) dotted all over.
On a lark, I went with a few friends to Campgaw Mountain, and I've been hooked ever since.
In my travels, I discovered that Disc Golf is very popular across the United States, but for some reason hadn't made great penetration here in the NYC area -- despite the large population of transplants from around the country.
So I started this group to get like-minded folks together. After all -- shouldn't New York City be home to the most prominent huckers around?
