Solving Problems with Google Technologies

Be sure you are registered on Meetup with your first and last name, and bring a photo id with you.

A lot of our presentations are just that--presentations.  This month we will focus on how to solve specific problems with Google technologies and the languages used at Google (i.e, C++, Java, Python, Go, and Javascript) and not just present the end result.

We are going to use the same format that we used at the December meeting.  We will break into 3-5 groups, each with a leader who will guide the group on a specific topic.  We will limit the time in each group so that you will be able to participate in two groups.

Our initial thoughts for the groups are:

Problem Solving and Algorithms - Bob Hancock

Android - Dario Laverde,  Ralph Yozzo, Kevin Galligan

Optimizing Web Performance -Serguey Chernyshev/Kai Mallea

App Script - Jan Kleinert

If you would like to lead a group or would like to suggest a topic send us an email.  Stay tuned, since the format is not finalized.

We attended the session about algorithms. It was superb.

I liked the setup and the ability to be able to interact with the smaller groups, some groups could have used projectors, to better present.

It was an interesting meetup. I liked the different groups idea and the possibility to interact and not only listen although I missed a big screen or something where the group leaders could show us what they were talking (it should be really nice for the google apps script group ;) ).

Interesting and informative; interesting format also: 4 groups, 4 topics happening simultaneously.

This was one of the best meetups I've gone to. I particularly enjoyed being able to go to multiple participatory group sessions.

Liked the 2 pass approach. Some initial "setting the stage" is needed, which the speakers did, to ensure effective communication, esp for those less familiar with a subject.

Overall, a good experience, with lots of collaborative energies.

Very good meetup. Great presentations. Just a pity there wasn't enough time to attend only 2.

    Intriguing and potentially useful presentations/workshops.

Excellent meetup. Loved the structure and the topics.
The only feedback i have is that i wish i was able to participate in all the groups and not only in 2.
    Great Job!

This time the leader will have three problems and lead the group in solving them using the technology specified by the group name. In my group, we will address how to approach a typical Google code problem when you have limited time to solve it.

i didnt attend the last meetup, but wanted to know what will be the kind of problems to solve, are they our own idea or there will be some specific problme sets that will be released.?

Either. If you want to bring a laptop and solve the problem in your specific language, that would be beneficial to everyone. I'll have my laptop for my group.

Do we code or it's just group discussion?

My friend Jason Peretz (who is for some reason unable to get a meetup account) will be coming too.
