Pig 0.12 + Pig on Tez (@ Strata + Hadoop World)

We're honored to have Alan Gates as our featured speaker for our Strata + Hadoop World Pig Meetup.

Alan is a co-founder at Hortonworks and an original member of the engineering team that took Pig from a Yahoo! Labs research project to a successful Apache open source project. He also designed HCatalog and guided its adoption as an Apache Incubator project. Alan has a BS in Mathematics from Oregon State University and a MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is also the author of Programming Pig (http://ofps.oreilly.com/titles/9781449302641/).

Alan will be discussing the new features in Pig 0.12, as well as his work on Pig on Tez (https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/PIG/Pig+on+Tez).
