After two years of work, the AGC BIMForum and AIA have published the first industry specification for the reliability of building information modeling data - the Level of Development (LOD) Specification 2013.

James Vandezande served as the chair of the Exterior Enclosure sub-group for the LOD Spec. James will introduce the document and share some insight behind the robust deliberations conducted in the work group.

About the Speaker:

James is a registered architect and Principal at HOK in New York. He is a firm-wide BIM leader and member of HOK’s Project Delivery Board. He is an active participant in the buildingSMART alliance including development of the National BIM Standard-US and has participated in the development of the LOD Specification with the AGC BIMForum and AIA. James founded the NYC Revit Users Group and is the author of the Mastering Revit Architecture series of technical books.

Thanks to all the sponsors for the sandwiches and iced tea, John for the presentation. It was sometimes hard to follow because of it's really new orientation, and there were times I thought I reached some real understanding just to learn that I had the wrong idea of it. LOD download worked and 125 pages to go, then I'll understand. After the seminar I'm miles ahead of where I was before it. You guys are really professionals!
