Topic: LEED Calculations with BIM + Revit Integration
Length: 90min
Description:
Too often during the course of a project, preparation of the documentation for LEED certification becomes divorced from the standard project design and documentation process. This presentation addresses how the completion of LEED certification can be achieved using Building Information Modeling (BIM). Numerous LEED credits can be reported and calculated directly from the BIM authoring environment, allowing for coordination of the most current project information. Primarily using the Autodesk Revit platform, we will look at the processes for collecting the required information. In addition, the use of ancillary programs to assist in quantifying information that is beyond the scope of the Revit platform will also be discussed. Examples for achieving different credit requirements will be illustrated.
Core Learning Objectives:
• Understand the LEED project certification process
• Learn how to use Revit templates and custom content to generate information specifically required by the USGBC
• Identify the limitations of Revit and when it’s necessary to use an additional platform to complete the required documentation
• Learn how to calculate different credits using the aforementioned methodology
