Riak at Engine Yard Cloud

Hope you're ready for an excellent meetup. We're pleased to announce that this month we're co-hosting this event with our friends at Engine Yard, who earlier this year announced the availability of hosted Riak. You should definitely check it out!

Plan to arrive at or around 7:00pm, we'll get started with the presentation around 7:15pm.

Food and Refreshments will be provided by Basho and Engine Yard. Bring yourselves and bring a friend.

Thanks for being a part of the Riak community,

7:15 - 7:45

Riak at Engine Yard Cloud Ines Sombra (@randommood)

Engine Yard provides a hardened and secure Platform as a Service in the Cloud, with support for multiple languages, databases, and other stack components. As customers grow, so does their need for highly fault-tolerant solutions. We started exploring and realized that Riak is an ideal fit for cloud environments where resources may disappear without notice.

We recently launched our Riak product after using it internally in one of our mission-critical applications. This talk will introduce you to what you need to know to run Riak in the cloud. We’ll share the lessons we’ve learned while building, testing, and launching our hosted Riak product.

About Ines:

Ines Sombra is the Lead Data Engineer at Engine Yard, where she spends her time thinking about the provisioning, configuration, and backups of data stores. Her current mission is to expand the Engine Yard database offerings and incorporate exciting NoSQL data stores. Being a true Argentinean, she also has a fondness for Steak and Fernet.
