Inaugural Riak NYC meetup featuring Justin Sheehy, CTO, Basho

We are kicking off our first Riak NYC meetup with a special presentation from Justin Sheehy, Basho's CTO. Justin is an amazing speaker — you should definitely check out his NoSQL East presentation, if you haven't seen it already.

Because this is our first Riak NYC meetup, Justin will be talking about the architecture of Riak, discussing some of the fundamental principles powering Riak. Justin will also introduce some of the new features being added to Riak, including secondary indexes.

After Justin's presentation, we will spend some time answering questions, and discussing some real-world use-cases for Riak, focusing on how people made the decision to use it, lessons learned, etc.

The last part of the meetup will be designated for networking and open discussion, so this is a great opportunity to learn how others are using Riak. Also, please let us know if you'd like to sign up as a guest speaker at an upcoming meetup.

And of course, we will be offering an array of dev-friendly refreshments, including pizza, beer, punch and pie (blueberry and apple)!

Good presentations of general concepts of Riak but it missed a quick demo showing the main differences with other NoSQL databases
