So we didn't have our monthly meetup in October, but come November, we're back in full swing!
As some of you know, I'm now a robotics researcher at Columbia. Last week I attended the northeast robotics colloquium at MIT and met Rodney Brooks personally. He encouraged the growth of this group. It's been a very hectic past few weeks for me, so I will be sharing my experiences and what I've learned with everyone.
I want to stick to the demoing tradition that we've established. I want to have at least 4 demos this Meetup. If you have anything at all, a full robot, a partially built robot, or even a well thought out robotic concept in the form of a powerpoint, please let me know and I'll schedule you! We want to expand the robotics community here in New York and the only way to do that is to collaborate, share novel ideas, and learn from one another. Robotics is growing exponentially and it's now a bigger field than ever before.
I no longer work at Meetup, but I can land us a space to meet here at Columbia University. The exact space is TBA but the Meetup will take place here.
Message me with any suggestions that you may have.
I hope to see lots of demos, talks, and ideas tossed around.
Let's make this next meetup the best one yet.
