To bridge the gap between modeling tools and WebGL engines, Khronos has recently introduced glTF (https://www.khronos.org/gltf) (GL Transmission Format). glTF is a simple, efficient, extensible, interoperable format for the transmission and loading of 3D content. This tech talk introduces glTF and the open-source ecosystem of pipeline tools and runtime engines that support glTF.
