I love to read challenging, evocative books that stimulate passionate conversation. I will contribute to that conversation with an open mind, both learning from those around me and offering thoughtful comments. This is not about pushing your opinion but about sharing and growing.
Edith Wharton is my true favorite
The Grapes of Wrath, The House of Mirth, The Known World, John Adams, The Omnivores Dilemma, Open, Lonesome Dove, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Bel Canto.
I grew up in Tulsa, OK and have lived in Dallas, TX for the last 32 years where I raised a son and daughter now 25 and 27. Once my parents passed I decided to make a change and moved to NYC in March 2012. Its been a fairly smooth transition but of course so different from Texas. I am in mobile (cell phone and tablet) advertising sales. My clients include McDonald's, Arby's, Dr Pepper, Nissan, Macy's. My passion is travel and I just returned from Istanbul. I'm enjoying theater, exploring new restaurants, walking the city and spending time with my daughter and her husband who live in the Village. My favorite reads have been classics, non-fiction, memoirs and biographies, historical fiction and intense fiction. I tend not to like "best sellers" but of course there are exceptions!
I moved to NYC from Texas for a new chapter/adventure in life. I left a brainy book club at home so am grateful to find this opportunity.
