There’s nothing quite like watching the sun set behind the Manhattan skyline from Central Park. Join NYSN members and friends for a relaxed after-work social where you can mingle, enjoy casual games, and soak up the views.
Bring a blanket, your favorite snacks or drinks, and a friendly vibe—you’ll be welcomed with open arms!***
### What to Expect
- A few dozen fun & easygoing attendees from NYSN and partner groups
- NYSN Hosts On-Hand to welcome and introduce you to others
- Icebreaker Games with Prizes + lawn activities like:
- Cornhole
- Lawn bowling
- Other casual games
- Bring Your Own Food & Beverages
- Pick up dinner from a deli or café on nearby Columbus Ave.
- Adult beverages are okay—just be very discreet.
- Stay for the Sunset, Socializing & Optional Afterparty
- After dark, join others to continue the evening at a local bar!

### Step into Coney Island’s Colorful Past—and Enjoy Its Vibrant Present!
Back in the 1800s, Coney Island was the vacation spot for Manhattanites. Known globally for its whimsical amusement parks and wild rides, it eventually fell into decay—only to make a major comeback in recent years. Now’s your chance to explore it like never before!
Join fellow NYSN members and guests for a fun Friday evening of adventure, socializing, and fireworks as you journey through Coney Island’s historic and modern marvels in this exciting scavenger hunt!***
### How It Works
- 7:30 PM: Meet the group outside Ruby’s Bar on the Boardwalk. Look for NYSN signs.
- 7:45 PM: Teams are formed and the hunt begins!
- 9:00 PM: Return to Ruby’s for food, drinks, and tallying of scores.
- 9:30 PM: Enjoy a spectacular fireworks display from the boardwalk with the ocean in the background.
- After: Stay for rides, games, or continue hanging out with the group!
Teams will search for historic and contemporary clues in and around the boardwalk.
You’ll have 75 minutes to find as many as you can.***

- Dress Code: Comfortable/Casual
- Recommended Ages: 21+
(Most attendees will be in their 30s and 40s, with a friendly mix of 20s and 50s too!) - Can I come alone? Absolutely! Most people do, and it’s a fantastic way to meet new friends.
- Getting There: The Q, F, and D trains all stop within a 5-minute walk of the meeting spot.

If you have tested positive for Covid or are sick with any ailment that prohibits you from attending, we will do our best to provide you with credits for select future events with a copy of your positive test results or doctor’s note. ### What to Expect
Your guide will greet you at the station and lead you through a fun, scenic, and social experience:
- Start in Historic Poughkeepsie
Stroll through the charming town streets to the Mid-Hudson Bridge for panoramic views and a visit to the Bridge Music art installation. - Nature Break in Franny Reese Park
Meander tree-lined paths and take in stunning overlooks of the Hudson River and surrounding valley. - Lunch Stop
Arrive at The Walkway Over the Hudson State Park Visitors Center to enjoy your packed lunch (note: food options here are very limited). - Cross the Famous Walkway
This stunning steel bridge, built in 1889 and converted in 2009, offers sweeping views of the river and beyond. - Final Treat
Conclude with a stop at a beloved local bakery for something sweet before heading back to the station.

- Meet the group in front of the Maritime Building in Manhattan.
- Take the 20 minute Ferry ride to the island.
- We’ll check out the live music festival featuring folk, blues and Americana music.
- We’ll stop for lunch at the food truck court. Over a dozen trucks.
- We’ll take a guided history tour.
- Following the tour you can stay on the island to enjoy the music festival or return.
