We're looking to add 1 - 2 awesome people, who also happen to be awesome full-stack developers. We're a "change the world" kind of company focused on transforming food culture, systems and healthcare. We have traction, unique market positioning, and yet we're still early enough that there is a lot of upside to joining our team now.
We are committed to transforming the dietary well-being of the nation one community at a time. Our Nutrition-as-a-Service™ infrastructure helps our partners care for their physical and virtual communities by providing personalized and lifestyle-aligned nutrition guidance to the people in them, whenever and wherever they eat.
We also have integrated applications for professionals in the healthcare and foodservice industries that create a very unique value proposition for our partners.
We've been working on this in the basement for almost a couple of years, and that's reflected in the number of partnerships we've spun up and the strength of our positioning. But we're still in most respects pre-launch and trying to fly under the radar as much as possible. Soon enough we will emerge and take our seat at the table of leading companies in the healthcare and food-tech sectors.
We were founded in SF, are now headquartered in Louisville, KY (strategic reasons) and are looking to open up shop in NYC and grow out our team in town (even more strategic reasons). Working remotely at first is totally fine, eventually we'll ideally get you moved in to a co-working space we're looking at (but that option for remote dev will be there). We have 11 FT team members.
Ruby/Rails 3.2, Postgres, Hadoop/Elasticsearch, lots of tools alongside... standard stuff. Computationally we've got a lot going on, billions upon billions of calculations on an on-going basis. We've filed for one patent so far, with a few more in the queue we need to get to soon.
What we need:
Just awesome people that are really talented engineers. Obviously a few years of experience with Rails is going to be an absolute must for us right now since we need people that can be up and running within a couple of weeks of starting. Pretty much we're looking for full-stack developers that can crank out back-end work, and if you've got the skills to help out on front-end, mobile, API, or any other kind of work... there's always a need. Experience or an interest in Hadoop/Elasticsearch is a real plus. TDD experience as-a-way-of-life is a must.
What we offer:
Role flexibility, meaningful work (both our business and technology), competitive pay, health benefits, excellent equity stake given how far we've come as a business
If you're actively looking, smart, ambitious, level-headed, reliable, innovative, and passionate developer, please reach out and get to know us. We're a very unique opportunity, and at the very least you'll be very interested in joining our team. Good likelihood that we have a project you'd be proud to be a part of.
Thanks much and all best!
