Mobile Testing With Selenium 2.0 and Frank

  • October 20, 2011 · 7:00 PM

As promised, we're making the NYC Meetups more regular - so much so that we already have our next event scheduled! Join us at Yodle on October 20th at 7pm for a meetup devoted to Mobile Testing.

Ben Burton, software engineer at TheLadders, will take us through how they're using Selenium 2/Webdriver to test their mobile apps. He'll start with a brief overview of their setup, then demo Webdriver in action, and close the presentation with a Q&A.

This will be followed up with a talk by Rajaram Ganeshan, a developer at ThoughtWorks, who will tell us about Frank, an open source testing framework that operates as "Selenium for iOS apps," allowing you to write automated acceptance tests for native iOS apps.

Thanks to our friends at Yodle for not only hosting this event, but also providing us with the food and drinks. We appreciate it!

See you all in a couple of weeks!

Even though I was only able to stay for the first speaker, it was very informative. We were able to see how the testing team at The Ladders use selenium with regards to mobile testing using web driver. Overall, great meetup!

It was an interesting and informative session. The space was smaller than expected, there was a large crowd. Not sure how you could prevent this from happening though, because I wouldn't want to exclude any Org on account of limited sitting. The technical difficulties at the end happen, I think we can only ask that presenters script and rehearse their presentations to the best of their abilities.

Another fun meetup. We were a little limited in space which made it difficult for latecomers to see the presentations, but overall, the talks were interesting and the folks at Yodle were more than kind to provide a venue, food, and plenty of beer. Looking forward to more!

Interesting topics. I learned more by googling the topic duin the presentations than by paying attention, mostly because I could barely see or hear the presentations duetothe lack of space and my bad eyesight.
