Building a Selenium Framework & Parallelizing Your Tests For Speed

Mark your calendars for our next meetup together on Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at SecondMarket! I'm particularly excited for the two presentations topics we've got scheduled because I think there's something for everyone in them.

The first speaker is Jason Smiley, a QA Engineer at Gerson Lehrman Group. He wrote a very thoughtful 3-post guest blog series for the Sauce Labs blog on building a Selenium/WebDriver Testing Framework from the ground up, and will be adapting that into a meetup presentation. This is a great talk for folks wondering where to start in building out a Selenium framework or who are interested in hearing some of the considerations others have made before taking on this endeavor.

The second speaker is Santiago Suarez Ordoñez, who is a Selenium committer and handles all of the Selenium and technical support at Sauce Labs. Having answered more than 3,000 support tickets related to Selenium, it's safe to say he knows a thing or two on the topic :-) For this talk, he'll be diving into how to parallelize your Selenium tests to speed up build times. If you're already on the path to automation and ready to run your tests in parallel, or want tips on how to make them better, then you'll get a lot out of this presentation.

Please help spread the word about this meetup and invite your friends! We've got plenty of space at the venue and would love to see some new faces. Big thanks to our friends at SecondMarket for offering to host this meetup and for providing us with pizza and beer. We greatly appreciate it.

Happy holidays and see you all in 2012!

It was a great introduction to something I had overlooked or unsure how to approach and am ready to tackle. These talks were very illuminating.

Really useful tips, seems to be a clear path to improve testing.
