Howdy hypnosis fans!
I?m pleased to announce two new Stage Hypnosis Workshops! Mark your calendars!
For those of you who may be new to the group, these workshops are a popular feature of the (Informal) New York Hypnosis Meetup Group. They are primarily designed for two different types of people: hypnotists who would like to develop a stage show, and anyone who is curious about how hypnotism works in general.
It turns out that to become a stage show performer, you need to know a lot more than just how to hypnotize. You need to know how to work the stage, how to calibrate to your volunteers, and how to keep the audience entertained. The workshop gives those who would like to learn these skills a chance to get up on a live stage with a practice set of volunteers and see what works, what doesn?t. It is designed to be a constructive learning experience and is a lot of fun.
But beyond the hypnotists, the workshops are a wonderful opportunity for anyone curious about hypnosis to learn about it first-hand. It is not a requirement that everyone who attends must get up on stage and be hypnotized. I believe that the people on stage have the most fun of all, but in the past we?ve had people who just wanted to watch and ask questions. That?s totally fine. The workshops are designed to be a learning forum for the very experienced to the complete beginner.
By the way, if you are kicking around the idea of coming but uncertain about experiencing hypnosis yourself, why not bring a friend? Find someone who?s open-minded and loves new experiences, and they?ll volunteer to be hypnotized. It is always loads of fun when friends come along, and you?ll be surprised how much you learn.
We have two workshops on the immediate calendar, and there will probably be more after these two. Note that there will not be any workshops after the summer is over. Here?s the When & Where of the next two workshops:
Sunday, May 18th, 3:00 pm ? 6:00 pm
Sunday, June 15th, 3:00 pm ? 6:00 pm
Jimmy?s No 43
43 E 7th St
(by 2nd Ave)
New York, NY 10003
I rent the workshop space out of my own pocket because I love these workshops. There is no cover charge, but if you see fit to give a small personal ($5, $10) donation to help me with expenses, I appreciate it more than you can know.
When I opened the first workshop about five months back, I thought it could be an enjoyable afternoon. I was unprepared for how much fun it was for everyone and how much everyone learned. I?m looking forward to the next few workshops with great anticipation.
Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions. Hope to see you there!
