Bees were once thought to be heavenly messengers, an expression of wisdom in the universe. The oneness of the bee colony reveals the interconnectedness of the world and of ourselves within the world.

In modern agriculture, this deeper meaning has been lost. With a bee-centered approach we can re-establish a reverent and respectful relationship with them. Come with an open heart.

This class is taught by Jacqueline Freeman and Michael Thiele.

Amazing. Partway through the class we approached one hive that had about 50 bees outside of it. We made a big circle (20 people) around the hive and bathed them in love and appreciation. Then, surprising all of us, 20,000 bees poured out of the hive and calmly joined us. The air was full of the sound of bees as they drifted up and down vertically around each of us for about 20 minutes. We were all touched and honored to be in their presence.

Heather, let's talk off the site. Email me at friendlyhaven (at) and we'll figure this out. This is Michael Thiele's only trip up here, I'm glad you know his beautiful harmonious work with bees!

I will be encouraging my friend Brian, biodynamic permaculture & natural farmer to attend...though it is a far journey for us being close to the northern border.
I have posted the event info on our local Bellingham Transition Towns site, and hope some other folks will be interested in attending....Although I've only met a handful of folks that are listening & singing to the honeybees...may we inspire more to sing and buzz!

Hi Jacqueline, for folks who may have to travel far to attend, is there a level spot to park a truck with camper under a shady tree to rest up the night before class begins?
Does the cost include meals, and overnight parking?
Im still working out my summer travel schedule, so have not set plans to leave the garden to attend yet.

Really exciting to have Michale Thiele be in WA...will he share anywhere closer to Bellingham or Vancouver Canada?
