WELCOME! THIS MEETUP IS NOT A TYPICAL MOM'S GROUP ABOUT ALL THINGS BABIES. IT HAS A DIFFERENT FOCUS. PLEASE READ ON..

This is for stay-at-home/part-time moms and dads who feel they and their child are missing out on something by being alone most of the time, and want more than just the weekly playgroup, mom's group, or tot class.

By "working together", I mean living your life doing meaningful work with other mothers, and your child being a part of it....rather than you and your child being alone on a regular basis. This communal setting is normal in many countries, but here in the U.S., in our modernized society, being a stay-at-home mom can be isolating. No wonder mothers get the baby blues, especially when you're in the suburbs and no one's around in the day. In our society, mothers have to find ways to bring socialization to their children. This is why childhood in this society often involves TV/DVDs,video games, birthday parties, junk foods, being driven around to lessons or games, competition, and whatever else to take away from the boredom.

WHAT IF...

Rather than spending your time seeking socialization for your child, via classes, play groups, etc..you could work in a community of mothers, doing something meaningful and fulfilling to YOU?

WHAT IF..

These mothers were supportive of breastfeeding, cloth diapering, carrying babies, elimination communication, homeschooling and living holistically?

WHAT IF..

Your child was loved, taken care of, and held by other mothers in addition to you on a regular basis?

WHAT IF..

Your child was around other children on a regular basis, learning to nurture the younger ones, and nurtured by the older ones.

WHAT IF..

Your child learned from you and the other mothers, just by being around you while you worked?

A communal "village" type setting not only takes away the lonliness for you, but is enriching for you and your child. But in our society, if this is what we want, WE HAVE TO CREATE IT.

We'll have a series of meetups in which we'll put our heads and hearts together to create what we want.
