Nature Studies Pages

We are a group of people who want to learn more about nature, in nature. This can include learning primitive living skills including medicinal and edible plants, animal behavior, natural healing, philosophy, tracking, weather patterns, building shelter, making fire, finding and purifying water, AND whatever else might float your birch bark canoe.

For me the emphasis is not on being a stone-age "survivalist", but on being a part of nature. By enjoying the beauty and difficulties of nature, by listening and interacting with my surroundings I find awareness of the nature that lives within and without.

We will hike in the wild, float, or just stroll down a city street. We will meet in and around the Delaware Valley, but can go farther afield as we grow. The more varied ecosystems we experience the more fun. I have a pretty laid-back personality and I imagine sharing these experiences with a good group of people. I have a fair knowledge of nature I can share, and I look forward to what others have to share with the group.
