Join families in Nebraska who are affected by limb differences for support and longlasting friendships. My son was born without his right hand and now, at the age of four, has started to vebalize how he has one "little hand" and one "big hand", but his preschool friends all have two "big hands." While he has good self-esteem, I think it would be incredibly positive for him to meet other children with upper limb differences as well, so he can see he's not alone and to develop friendships with others who'll share his experiences that will last a lifetime. There are great national organizations, but nothing here locally in Nebraska that brings together our children and families. I'm starting this group so families that cannot travel these distances can still interact with others having the same experiences. If you have a child affected by limb loss, whether conginetal or amputation, please join the group and we'll work together to create a positive and caring experience for our children.
