NEC Fall Concert Series: Chamber Orchestra + Haydn, Mendelssohn & Shostakovich

It's time for the next FREE classical music concert for the fall season at the New England Conservatory of Music!

Tonight, the Chamber Orchestra again takes the stage to play works of Haydn, Mendelssohn, and Shostakovich.  (Listen to excepts below; the names in the list link to youtube performances of the works.)

For more information about this concert, go to http://necmusic.edu/nec-chamber-orchestra-0

Let's meet up at 7:15pm, so the group can grab a bunch of seats together when the doors open, and then socialize before the concert.  For these concerts, we usually end up sitting in last two rows of the center floor section, in front of the railing and the sound board, as is open to the ceiling, and is easy to describe and find, and it is relatively easy to grab a large block of seats there.

Directions to Jordan Hall:
The hall is located at the corner of Huntington and Gainsborough streets, about a block south of the Symphony T stop on the Green Line. It's also close to the Mass Ave station on the Orange line.  Look for the building with the YMCA sign on top of it as you walk down Huntington Ave--it's near that building. The main entrance is reached from Gainsborough Street.

A generally marvelous concert-- a few clams in the Haydn, but otherwise top-notch, with a sublime performance of the Shostakovich, and a nice if unexpected substitution of Dvorak for the Mendelssohn. And, we have almost a 50% attendance rate, which is much better than usual of late! Thanks to all who came out to share this with me, and I hope to see you all next week!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
