I arrived late and wonder what I missed in meeting people and talking about the topic. CAFOs do present a big climate change problem and are not yet subject to much regulation under the Clean Air Act, if any. The Agricultural lobby is powerful. Here's some info, for anyone interested. The methane's the biggest problem.

They are a huge water quality problem too.

    Thanks for organizing, Duncan.

I can't tell if you are mocking climate change or making fun of people who mock climate change. In any case, it sounds like a pointless discussion. I agree that we should let the idiots debate global warming for a change. It's so much more entertaining to listen to the clueless make irrelevant points and then laugh about them.

Here's a good joke: Two strangers are on the Titanic. One goes up to the other and says, "Allow me to break the ice."

What about HUMAN release of METHANE per year? ;) Would be interesting to see statistics of vegetarians vs. carnivores Seriously - the article @ was very intriguing. I remember reading about the ozone issues in New Zeland due to sheep methane release. So much energy going to waist..haha

This would be my first meetup with this group. What to expect? I am a not-so-smart intellectual with a not-at-all snob attitude. :-)

Here is a theory that states the amount of cloud formation is what causes global warming and the amount of cloud formation is caused by solar activity from the sun as well as solar rays. The scientists that did this research are not affiliated with any special interest group and their research /articles have been peer reviewed and published in respectable scientific journals.
