FYI: 10/14/2010: Rob Velella in "Edgar Allan Poe and Margaret Fuller: A Conversation": 7 pm - 9 pm

From: T.J. M.
Sent on: Tuesday, October 12, 2010 2:09 PM
You may have taken one of his literary walking tours of Cambridge. You may have taken one of his tours at the Longfellow House while he is part of the National Park Service. You may have read his 19th century literary criticism blog [ ] or bought his Edgar Allen Poe desk calendar he was selling last year. This Thursday you can see Nerd Fun member Rob Velella portraying Edgar Allen Poe this Thursday from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Somerville Public Library in "Edgar Allan Poe and Margaret Fuller: A Conversation".

... Unfortunately, T.J. has plans with family this Thursday. Does anyone want to put this on the calendar as an official Nerd Fun meetup? Write to Heather the Organizer of Nerd Fun if you wish to be an Event Organizer for this. Even if this doesn't get off the ground as an official meetup, you should still see this!

"Edgar Allan Poe and Margaret Fuller: A Conversation
"Contact: Susan Lamphier [masked] [address removed] [ for more information ]

"The year is 1845 and Miss Fuller (portrayed by Jessa Piaia) and Mr. Poe (portrayed by Rob Velella) are in town from Manhattan where they are at the height of their literary careers -- Mr. Poe as editor of The Broadway Journal, and Miss Fuller as first female editor and literary critic at The New York Daily Tribune. They meet at the Somerville Public Library to discuss their recently published works (Poe's The Raven and Fuller's Woman in the 19th Century), and exchange gossip and innuendo in a humorous style reminiscent of the Transcendentalist circle in Concord, Boston, and Brook Farm, the utopian community located in West Roxbury.

"This free performance is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. "All are welcome to attend. Location: Central Library, 79 Highland Avenue , Somerville, MA"
