Announcing a new Meetup for Nerd Fun - Boston!

What: Hot Dog Safari at Sufolk Downs

When: May 31,[masked]:30 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: The Hot Dog Safari, which is hosted by The Phantom Gourmet, is an entire day of food and fun, all to benefit the Joey Fund, Cystic Fibrosis. The Hot Dog Safari features a dozen kinds of hot dogs, other delicious foods, and tons of fun. On hand this year providing hot dogs of all kinds are Kayem, Sausage Guy, Redbones, Harrows, Fuddruckers, Old Neighboorhood, Kowloon, Entenmann's, Dunkin Donuts, Nantucket Nectars and Richardson Ice Cream. There were also sausages and Kowloon provided noodles in a hot dog bun last year. I also recalled some pulled pork in a hot dog bun. There was also soup, but not in a bun.

They will have activities, including music, a hot dog eating contest, dance performances, New England Revolutions cheerleaders, rainforest reptiles and interactive games. Last year, I believe there was a few Bruins players there signing autographs and I imagine that will occur again. And, of course, we can bet on a few horse races.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Let's meet at 10:30 a.m. which should be put us in the lull between the 9 a.m. and lunch crowds. Be advised. Eat a light breakfast.

Tickets are just $10 in advance and $15 at the event, which includes all you can eat food and soft drinks. Tickets can be purchased at the website or you can buy them at Fuddruckers on Rte 1 in Saugus, Fuddruckers on Rte 114 in North Andover, Jordan's Furniture at Walker's Brook Drive in Reading or Village Mall on Rte 28 in Methuen. Tickets are also available at Ace Ticket locations in Braintree, Allston, Boston, Brookline, Chelmsford, Saugus and Framingham. You are responsible for getting your own ticket.

Access to Suffolk Downs is easy whether by driving or T. Check out the link to Suffolk Downs for specific directions. It is on Route 1A North. If you are taking the T, simply take an outbound blue line train to the Sufffolk Downs stop. There is a pathway from the station and you will have to walk to the front of the racetrack to meet us at the main entrance.

Meet in the main entrance directly in front of the preferred parking area. I will be holding up a meetup sign. As we get closer to the event, I will email out my phone number to those who answered yes.
