Hi there, Nerds!
Don't want to flood your emails (more than they already are with "Meetup" spam), but we wanted to talk a little about Meetup Scheduling.
Currently, our members CAN schedule Meetups on their own, without organizer approval.  While we do want everyone to have the ability to make suggestions, cross-schedule Meetups from other groups, and even host their own Meetups, we feel that there should be some guidelines in doing so.
First, if you are going to schedule a Meetup, please be able to actually host that Meetup.  One worry we have had as organizers, is Meetups scheduled for the purpose of advertising.  We want to assure that there is organization in EVERY Meetup that is scheduled, and the key to that is having an actual host for the event.  So if you are going to schedule a Meetup with this group, you MUST be able to host it, or find an Organizer that is able to attend so they can host it.
Also, have a proper, and informative description for the Meetup you are scheduling.  If you are cross-scheduling with other groups, please put that in your description, as well as any other info that might be needed so members know EXACTLY what will be taking place at your event.  (And this should go without saying, but please use capitalization, proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.  A clever title for your event is always good too!)
Lastly, if you are hosting a Meetup, we would love to here how that Meetup went!  Reviews are important to a group's success, and we would love to hear from everyone that they enjoyed the Meetup they attended.  And if you are hosting the Meetup, we would love pictures!  Photos are a great resource for new members.  They are welcoming, show what kinds of events our group hosts, and are just a great reference of the past Meetups that have taken place!
We love giving our members the ability to give suggestions and schedule events, but we feel it is important that each event is successful.  We feel that can be achieved with proper scheduling, hosting, and communication with your leadership team.
