Project Night!

Details
The American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting is once again at Moscone Center Dec. 14 - 18 (http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2015/), and downtown San Francisco will again be flooded with earth scientists of all flavors who've gathered from around the world to share research and inspiration. To celebrate, we've rolled our usual Tuesday meeting back to Monday, as the rest of the week’s evenings are filled with AGU-related shin-digs.
Besides our usual Introductions All Around and Short Project Pitches (bring yours! (https://www.meetup.com/Nerds-For-Nature/messages/boards/forum/19954518)), we’ll have at least two special presentations:
• Christa Hasenkopf and Joe Flasher from OpenAQ (https://openaq.org/#/) and Development Seed (https://developmentseed.org/) will present their organizations' efforts to build an open air quality data hub for the world. The OpenAQ community is developing open data sources and tools that will help citizen scientists and the public more easily access sensor data. Come learn how you can get involved!
• Dan Rademacher and other Nerd Organizers will present initial results of the Nerd Summit Mind Map, and outline an exciting program that's shaping up to meet those challenges that they're calling The Complete Nature Nerd! We’ll have some discussion, get your input, and seek your involvement to make it happen.
Then after the break, we’ll have plenty of time to dig into details, spark new conversations and connections, and plan next steps.
So Please Do Join us for some Extra Nerdy Holiday Cheer, and come meet our special AGU guests and give them a properly Nerdy welcome to the Bay Area.
(We’re three blocks from Civic Center BART and 4 blocks from Moscone Center. Yes, you can bring your bike inside).
