Hi! I'm David. I am the biodiversity informatics manager at the University and Jepson Herbaria at UC Berkeley. I am more of a data manager than software development, but I am interested in developing my skills as a programmer

What types of projects do you like working on most?

In my job I am responsible for the Consortium of California Herbaria (CCH) and the Jepson eFlora, and will also be doing dev for the open source collection management system CollectionSpace. I am interested in managing biodiversity data and developing tools to help people identify plants.

How did you hear about Nerds For Nature?

I saw that Nerds for Nature was an affiliate for the Tilden Park bioblitz. I had also read about the Sudo Room and was interested and now am even moreso.

Biodiversity Informatics Manager at UC Berkeley Herbaria. New to the Bay Area and the USA.
