When: April 14,[masked]:00 PM
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Meetup Description: After the long Minnesota winter, it's finally springtime, and coincidentally our April (showers) meetup is focused on cloud computing. Wyn Douglas of Fox Consulting will unpack some of these cloudy terms and we'll discuss the benefits for the nonprofit community.
"You truly belong here with us among the clouds.?
-- Lando Calrissian, Baron Administrator of Cloud City
"Cloud Computing" gets thrown into technology discussions nearly as often as "Web 2.0," and usually with less definition (as if it were possible). While architects of the next era of Internet communication craft a succinct definition, what's the value of cloud computing to end users right now? What about small to mid-sized organizations looking to maximize the use and minimize the cost of their IT investments?
This discussion will define cloud computing in terms that make sense of the amorphous with specific examples, contexts and applications and, hopefully, provide you with new ideas of how it can be valuable to users and organizations. We'll discuss the benefits and costs of utilizing cloud computing applications and peek into the direction in which it's headed.
