Does Your Vote Really Count in North Carolina?

Educated and enlightened voters are the cornerstone of our democracy. You might be somewhat amazed but more likely distressed, to know who is really electing our public servants. Is it your vote or big money? Ms. Libbie Griffin, a New Bern activist and a leader in our local political scene, will provide an alarming insight into what has been happening at the state level here in North Carolina. Following a documentary film packed with the latest scoop on the state political scene, Ms. Griffin will engage us in discussion about what we might do to put things back in balance. We CAN make a difference.

Following our program, we will enjoy a potluck supper. Please bring a dish to share. Sodas will be provided. BYOB. Childcare will also be provided but please when your RSVP, indicate if you will bring children.

For our charity this month, would you please bring a few non-perishable food items for the local food bank.
