NMARC Sprint Race # 2
Hosted by New Mexico Adventure Racing Club Meetup
Details
This will be an 8 hour Adventure Race held in the Cochiti Lake area. Elements include mountain biking, paddling, trekking, rappelling. Still working out all the new course design...stay tuned
Update 5/27/2013:
I have been talking to the permit people and the course is 90% set!
This year's course is different with some new challenges and terrain. You should expect some pristine water with nice views (in or out of the boat....hint, hint). Fun trekking (you might even see a beautiful canyon, bird's nesting, or a bobcat). The mountain biking will challenge your mind as well as your body. If you plan on doing the rappel you must have experience doing a rappel either in a class or by an experienced and qualified person who taught you. Otherwise, I will have a bypass for those who can't or choose to bypass the rappel. All maps and course instruction will be given out at the race meeting at 7:15am the morning of June 8.
You can bring your own boat or rent them at a separate cost from Mike at QuietWaterPaddling. They are a group separate from NMARC but will drop off and pick up your boat. He rents boats on a first come, first served basis.
More updates will be posted here as I get them.
