UPDATE #2: The course is all set and all the flags have been set. I found some great singletrack that I will use in the future. I couldn't get enough of the views of the Rincon Mountains. Tomorrow will be a lot of fun!

UPDATE: PLEASE CARPOOL IF YOU CAN! PARKING IS VERY LIMITED!

This hands-on clinic is designed to reinforce the basics of reading a compass, plotting points, setting a bearing, and finding check points on a mountain bike. An advanced course will be available to those who want to try it on their own.

The clinic will be held in Placitas, at the Silver Mine trail head. When you exit I-25 North Bound at the Placitas exit go East for approximately 2.3 miles. You will pass a strip shopping center on your left. Go approximately .4 miles past the center and turn right at the SECOND cattle guard. Follow that road for about two hundred yards - you will see my red Acadia.

The clinic will last for approximately four hours to noon. Bring enough water and food to last. Also, weather may change so bring proper clothing as you will be biking approximately 6 miles over an offroad trail system. You must provide your own bike, helmet and whatever cycling gear you normally bring on a ride(ie tire repair kit, spare tube, bike pump, etc.)

I will have some compasses and UTM grid's to share. If you have a compass or can borrow one, please bring it. Also, bring a pencil to plot points. I will have maps for all to use.

Cost is free but the group is limited to 25

If you would like to join the club, annual dues are $20 and we will have membership forms available to fill out.
