The first NMARC sprint race is on May 12th. The event will feature solid navigation as you hike, bike, paddle and scooter or rollerblade to find checkpoints within a 4 hour time frame. The paddle portion will be about 3 miles, the trekking leg will be about 3 miles, the biking leg will be 6 miles in length and the scootering/inlineskating/rollerskiing leg will be 3 miles in length. The race location will be in Albuquerque. Prepare to have a ton of fun down in the Rio Grande/Bosque area of town. The race start/finish location will be revealed about a week prior to the race. You and your teammates will work together to conquer some obstacles and navigate the course to find checkpoints.

Race entry fee: $30/person

Your team will receive one MyTopo custom map, race instructions, race passport, post-race snacks, race insurance and some swag.

Kelly has 10-12 whitewater kayaks to rent out. Kelly requires minimum of 48 hours to rent a kayak. You will get a boat, PFD and paddle for your fee. You will also have to cartop your rental boat to the race and after the race is finished, return it to his shop.

As part of the use of the Rio Grande, New Mexico State Parks and the New Mexico Adventure Racing Club strongly urge participants to watch the Cold Water Boot camp video below as prerequisite for this race.
