Thanks Kim for a great race - good mix-up of challenges and new mystery events. As always the fisherpeople were cheering us on as we paddled by them. Our team saw a Cooper's hawk patrolling one of the meadows just South of CP8 and I saw a bunch of garter snakes at the North end of the lake when we were jumping back into the boats to paddle back to Kim. Kudos to Team 9 Degrees From Separation! Great job to Aaron and Karen for finishing their first race and congrats to Jennifer for excelling in her 2nd race. Looking forward to the Cochiti Lake race in July!
Outstanding race. The multitude of events, heat, bugs and challenging terrain made it a true adventure. I was glad to see a slack-line that was high enough off the ground to add a little fear factor. The paddle board was a blast and a serious core workout. I really liked the warm-up provided (that guy was awesome) and the post race push-ups were a nice exposure to some cool training equipment. Thanks Kim! This race gets better every year. Also, a big thanks to all the volunteers.
Hey fellow racers, anybody willing to let 4 VERY easy going adventurists crash at a fenton lake campsite on saturday? We'll be willing to pay for the night's fee, share food and/or drinks. I'm not sure if it matters, but we will have two vehicles.
